Terms of Service / End User License Agreement
This agreement is a legal agreement between you ("User") and the SmartCalcu developer ("we", "us") governing your use of the SmartCalcu application and this website (together, the "Service"). By downloading, installing or using the Service, you confirm that you have read and agree to this agreement in full. If you do not agree, please stop using the Service and uninstall the app.
1. License grant
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial purposes such as study and everyday calculation. The app is licensed, not sold, and we reserve all rights not expressly granted.
2. Restrictions
Without our written permission, you may not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the app, or attempt to extract its source code
- Extract the bundled recognition model files and redistribute them or upload them to public model repositories
- Use the app's model or its outputs to train, distill or fine-tune other models
- Remove, obscure or alter copyright and attribution notices in the app or its model files
- Use the app or any of its components in a paid product or service
- Rent, lend, resell or sublicense the app, or circumvent any technical protection measures
- Use the Service for any purpose that violates applicable law in your jurisdiction

3. Intellectual property
The app and all of its contents — including but not limited to program code, interface design, icons, text, and the handwriting recognition model and its weights — are owned by us or the respective rights holders and are protected by copyright and related laws. The app includes several third-party open-source components, which are licensed under their own respective licenses; those license terms prevail with respect to those components.
4. Your content
The formulas, handwritten strokes and speech you provide in the app belong to you. They are processed locally on your device only; we neither collect nor retain them. See the Privacy Policy.
5. Accuracy of results
The app is an assistive calculation tool, and its recognition and calculation results are not guaranteed to be accurate in all cases. Handwriting recognition is affected by legibility and writing style and may misread input. Please verify results yourself before relying on them for homework, exams, financial, engineering, medical or any other important purpose. We are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on the app's output.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not warrant that the app will work flawlessly on every device and OS version.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, and regardless of the legal theory, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages, including but not limited to data loss, lost profits or business interruption. Where applicable law does not permit a full exclusion of liability, our total liability is limited to the amount you actually paid to obtain the app (which is zero if the app is provided free of charge).
8. Third-party services
Voice input relies on the speech recognition service provided by your operating system. That service is provided by the respective OS vendor and governed by its terms; we are not responsible for its availability, accuracy or data handling.
9. App store terms
If you obtained the app through a third-party app store (such as the App Store, Google Play or Huawei AppGallery), you must also comply with that store's terms of use. This agreement is between you and us, not the app store operator; app store operators bear no obligation to provide maintenance, support or warranties for the app.
10. Updates and termination
We may release updates from time to time to fix defects or improve features; updates are also governed by this agreement. This license terminates automatically if you breach this agreement, and you may terminate it at any time by uninstalling the app. Sections 3, 5, 6 and 7 survive termination.
11. Changes to this agreement
We may revise this agreement and will update the date at the top of this page when we do. Material changes will be announced prominently in the app or on this website. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revisions.
12. Governing law
The formation, validity, interpretation and enforcement of this agreement are governed by the laws of the mainland of the People's Republic of China, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes arising from this agreement shall first be resolved through good-faith negotiation; failing that, either party may bring proceedings before a court of competent jurisdiction. If you use the Service outside mainland China, this section applies to the extent it does not conflict with mandatory law in your jurisdiction.
